Dr. Bob Peters

Dr. Bob Peters is currently President and managing director of the Dallas Ear Institute. His background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of North Texas followed by his M.D. degree, residency in Otolaryngology, and fellowship in Neurotology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is founder and president of the Dallas Hearing Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving the gift of hearing and speech to children and adults with hearing loss. In this capacity he has helped secure funding and performed cochlear implant surgery on patients from 12 different countries around the world. He is an associate clinical professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and serves as medical director of North Texas ENT Associates (NTENT), a group of 75 ENT physicians encompassing the north Texas area. He holds memberships in the American Academy of Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery, the American Neurotologic Society, the Triologic Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society. He is also a member of the Surgeon’s Advisory Board for Med-El Corporation and serves as a speaker and consultant for Cochlear Corporation. He has numerous publications and is a widely traveled speaker. His practice focuses on the treatment of hearing loss and ear disorders in both children and adults including cochlear implantation, Meniere’s Disease, acoustic neuromas, and facial nerve disorders. Dr. Yoav Hahn

Dr. Yoav Hahn is a board-certified Otolaryngologist, with specialized fellowship training in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery. He attended the University of Chicago, medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and general surgery training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Hahn completed Otolaryngology residency at the University of California-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. Following this, he served for two years as Assistant Clinical Professor at University of California-Davis and a staff Otolaryngologist for the Head and Neck Surgery Department at Kaiser Sacramento Medical Center. Leslie Lianos, MS, CCC/A
Director of Cochlear Implant Program

Leslie Lianos has been practicing audiology for more than 20 years. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is accredited by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and is licensed by the state of Texas.  Prior to joining the Dallas Ear Institute in 2001 she worked at UTSW in Dallas, TX where she specialized in the early identification of hearing loss with children of all ages.  She now specializes in cochlear implant counseling and programming for both children and adults.  She lives in Lake Highlands with her husband and daughter.

Kristin King, Au.D., CCC/A
Audiologist

Kristin King received her Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2004. She began practicing at Dallas Ear Institute in 2007 as an intern and graduated with a Doctorate in Audiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2008. Dr. King is accredited by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and is licensed by the state of Texas. She is currently focusing on hearing aid and cochlear implant services for our patients in The Hearing Center. Her interests outside of work are spending time with her husband and two children.


Consultant Profiles 

Linda Daniel, M.A., Lic. Audiologist; M.S. Communication Disorders, Cert. Auditory-Verbal Therapist. In her preschool years, Linda told her mother, “When I grow up I’m going to teach deaf people to talk.” Pursuing her dream, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Iowa, a Master of Arts degree in Audiology from the University of Denver and a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin. A Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist, Linda brings over 25 years of experience to the deaf children and adults who receive the cochlear implant. Ms. Daniel provides family-based therapy services which help patients develop a sophisticated sense of hearing and intelligible speech. Her goal is for each person to function as independently as possible at school, at work and in society

Brenda Weinfeld Bliss, M.S., CCC-SLP/A, Cert.AVT, a dually certified speech/language pathologist and audiologist graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Speech/Language Pathology. She became dually certified in speech/language pathology and audiology graduating from The University of Texas at Dallas, Callier Center for Communication Disorders. Following her formal schooling, she completed her fellowship years at The House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, California, working on the single channel trials for cochlear implants under the direction of Dr. William House. Dr. House pioneered the single channel 3M cochlear implant device. Once completing her internship in speech/language pathology and audiology, she pursued her certification in auditory-verbal therapy. Brenda Bliss is also the director of Bliss Speech and Hearing services. Her practice provides auditory-verbal therapy services and cochlear implant rehabilitation to infants, children and adults with varying degrees of hearing loss. Bliss Speech and Hearing Services, Inc also provides therapy for all types of speech and language disorders including language, articulation, voice, and fluency disorders as well as oral-motor and verbal apraxia and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD).
Sarah S. Nuche, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who holds a doctoral degree in child clinical psychology from the University of North Texas. She also obtained master’s degrees in Special Education, from the University of Houston, and in school psychology, from the University of North Texas. She obtained additional course work in deaf education from Boston University and her pre-doctoral training included a practicum at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders and an internship with the Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Terrell State Hospital Consortium. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Nuche is certified as a health service provider and maintains a private practice in psychology. Her areas of expertise include assessment and intervention, across the lifespan, for individuals with sensory differences, neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders, and developmental delays. Additionally, she has experience in the public schools as an elementary teacher and school psychologist for a regional deaf education program.
Dr. Angela Scheuerle is a Medical Geneticist: the career she wanted when she fell in love with genetics as a sophomore in high school. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Sewanee: The University of the South. She received her medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio and a fellowship in Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Scheuerle maintains certification in Pediatrics, Clinical Genetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics. She has been in practice as Tesserae Genetics since 2000 and at Medical City since 2003. In addition to patient care, Dr. Scheuerle works with the Texas Department of State Health Services Birth Defect Surveillance program and as a teratologist for various FDA mandated pharmaceutical pregnancy registries.
